The luxury car the late businessman was traveling was running at a very high speed as it had covered the distance of 20 kilometers in just 9 minutes. The CCTV footage has confirmed the speed of the vehicle. However, the remains of the car show that it had hit the divider near Charoti in Palghar, which is almost 130 kilometers from Mumbai.
Prime Minister Modi shared a tweet about the untimely demise of Cyrus Mistry, calling the unfortunate event a “loss to the world of commerce and industry.”
Police have mentioned that Cyrus Mistry was sitting in the backseat of the car along with Jehangir Pandole. However, neither of them was wearing seatbelts and passed away after the car hit the divider.
The passengers of the car were returning from the Iranshah Atash Behram Fire Temple in Udvada. This is the main fire temple for the Parsis, after praying for the late father of the Pandoles.
At the time of the accident, Mistry was traveling with Jehangir Pandole, Darius Pandole, and his wife, Anahita Pandole. Darius And Anahita were airlifted and taken to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.
