In a YouTube video that surfaced in 2018, it was claimed that the famous lost city of Atlantis had been found in the Sahara Desert. A massive section of the online audience believes in the theory that Atlantis can be found in the African country of Mauritania.
When you see the video, you will question the genuineness of the concept! They say it has been hiding in plain sight. Everyone keeps looking for lost cities in different places worldwide, such as the Mediterranean Sea or the Atlantic Ocean.
The YouTube channel Bright Insight has a host named Jimmy, who made a video on this topic! The strange formation is called the “Eye of the Sahara” or the Richat structure resembling Plato’s ringed city. So now you question why he claims such a thing.
He informs that the Richat structure is the same size as that of the lost city of Atlantis, which is about 23.5km, circular and across! Mountain structures are clearly visible on satellite imagery, along with evidence of many ancient rivers.
According to Plato, these ancient rivers flowed across the ancient city! The structure is quite mysterious as scientists try to evaluate it based on its formation.
