While, the 25th of October might be a normal day for the rest of the population. But if you are a pasta lover, this day will automatically become significant in your life. Did you know this day did not even exist up until 1995?

History notes that, some 40 pasta manufacturers started the first World Pasta Congress, on the 25th of October 1995. And since then, it has been celebrated as World Pasta Day. However, this current-day delicacy is not exactly current. Our beloved pasta is quite aged, having records of its existence since 5000 B.C.

However, this Italian-categorized delicacy is not originally created in Italy. There are a lot of explanations associated with pasta. Some say that it was first invented by Chef Boyardee, a working chef at a company established by Hector Boiardi, an Italian cook.

While others argue that, pasta traveled from China to Italy in the 1200s, holding the hands of Marco Polo. Proving these theories as a bluff, Jane Grigson, a British food author, claims a Canadian Spaghetti Company, as its home- in the 1920s.

While legend also states its popularity in the 14th & 15th C, when explorers preferred to carry dried pasta on expeditions. Pasta owes its popularity in American countries to the Italian immigrants who traveled from Naples, in the late 19th C.

In the current day, pasta is presented to us in a variety of shapes and sizes. There’s variety in the sauces, as well. However, the significance of this day marks the optimization of this remarkably nutritious, healthy & sustainable cuisine- which is high in folic acid and low in glycemic acid.
