Later, he graduated from the University of Illinois in 2002 at Urbana-Champaign. He joined Paypal with a degree in computer science. The third co-founder of YouTube, Jawed Karim, whose mother is German and whose father is Bangladeshi, was born in 1979 in Merseburg, East Germany.

Furthermore, Karim got his computer science degree before working for PayPal! When they started taking pictures and videos together, they realized there was an opportunity for a viable medium through which content could be shared.
